José María Vara has 30 years of solid experience in General Management in leading companies in the large-scale distribution sector and in the Spanish and European agri-food sector. He is also the owner of intensive and super-intensive olive grove farms, including oil extraction, as well as livestock farms. In his professional career, he is a member of and advises Boards of Directors. He is a specialist in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, analysis and process improvement. He has been an advisor to relevant Private Equity and Venture Capital firms since 2006.

José María Vara holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and an MBA from IESE.
